Summary Sindh Assembly on Wednesday passed Right of Children to Free‚ Compulsory Education Bill‚ 2013.

 

KARACHI (Dunya News) - Under the Bill‚ the children aging 5 to 16 years‚ will be entitled to get free and compulsory education up to matriculation. Besides public sector schools‚ private schools have also been bound to provide a free and compulsory education to a ten percent of their total number of students also.


On a point of order, Provincial Minster for Women Developmen Taukir Fatima told the House that 40,000 women were benifitting from microfinance scheme.


Sindh Information Minister condemned police torture on Punjab Deputy Parliamentary leader Shaukat Basra and young on doctors.


The House also unanimously adopted a resolution under which raids by the law enforcing agencies have been condemned‚ which has been made at the residence of Deputy Parliamentary Secretary of PPP in the Punjab Assembly Shaukat Basra and the residence of MQM Central Committee member Iftikhar Randhawa in Lahore.


The House asked the Sindh government to contact the Punjab government to take a stern action against the police officials involved in this regard and resolve the problems of protesting young doctors through a dialogue.
