ISLAMABAD: Chief of Tehreek Minhajul Quran, Dr Tahirul Qadri had challenged the formation of the Election Commission and moved the SC on February 7.
The Supreme Court on Friday accepted the petition for hearing and issued notices to Attorney General of Pakistan, Federation, Chief Election Commission and Dr Tahirul Qadri.
The apex court will start the hearing of the petition on February 11.
It is worth mentioning here that Dr Tahirul Qadri had filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the appointment of members of ECP.
Later talking to media, Tahirul Qadri said he filed the petition because the Election Commission was not formed in accordance with the Constitution.
Responding to a question, he said that the electoral process would not be affected due to his petition.
