GUJRAT: PML-Q leader and Deputy Prime Minister Ch Parvez Elahi said that if Shahbaz Sharif had not terminated our projects there would have been no darkness in Punjab today.

He was addressing a big gathering of former Nazims and Councilors and notables of NA-105 in Gujrat on Saturday.

“We do politics of progress and development of Pakistan and welfare of the people, anti-people will not be able to compete with us anywhere with the blessings of Almighty Allah, N-League has not completed any project other than Jaati Umrah,” he added.

Ch Parvez Elahi said that the measures he had taken for welfare and well-being of the poor people and common man, free provisions of health and education facilities and creation of maximum employment opportunities as the Chairman District Council then as the Chief Minister Punjab and now as the Deputy Prime Minister have not only been appreciated at the national level but also hailed internationally.

He said we have worked day and night for enhancing the prestige of the Punjab and Gujrat and because of this people of other provinces tell me today that Punjab of my tenure was very much better, we started free education in 64 thousand schools of the province for the first time in the history of Pakistan, provided stipends to the girl students, present govt. ended our system and thus shut the doors of education on the poor girl students and caused the rest of the damage by establishing Daanish Schools.

Continuing Ch Parvez Elahi said that Sharif Brothers have only developed Jaati Umrah, we exempted five marla houses of the poor and twelve and half acres of land from tax, provided free education, transport and other facilities to the special children, Punjab Govt will give subsidy of one billion rupees every month on "Jangla" Bus Service which will be received from the poor people.

Speaking on the occasion, former Provincial Minister Mian Imran Masood said that selection of candidates by N-League can be judged by the bitter fact that it had given ticket to a fake degree holder in Gujrat, N-League has a history of supporting and promoting fake degree holders, this time with the help of the people we would get their securities confiscated because they have eaten the money of the poor people for five years.

On the occasion, Federal Minister Ch Wajahat Hussain and other leaders were also seated on the stage.
