Summary Parliamentary Commission on the making of new provinces in Punjab has become controversial.

ISLAMABAD:-Parliamentary Commission on the making of new provinces in Punjab has become controversial, as its members still tow their party policies on the subject, ignoring its purpose of creation.

In this regard, a meeting has been called on December 10 in which rules and regulation for the commission would be placed.

When contacted to the commission members related to formation of new provinces, all of them represented their party agendas and blamed others party members for non-creation of new provinces.

Chairman Parliamentary Standing Committee for Petroleum and Natural Resources Jamshed Dasti claimed that South Punjab would become a province only with the support of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N).

PML-N senator Saad Rafique expressed reservations regarding formation of Commission because of Punjab Assembly’s non-representation in the commission.

PML-Q Secretary Information Kamil Ali Aga said PML-N is against of the formation of Saraiki province. Its reservations would never come to an end; that is why 12 members have been included in the commission from PML-N, he maintained.
