KARACHI: Unknown gunmen Wednesday sprayed bullets on a prayer leader and killed him on the spot in a mosque in New Karachi area, media reports said.
According to police, the unidentified attackers entered a mosque in New Karachi No.5 and ambushed the prayer leader.
Tension gripped the area after the incident and people took to streets in protest.
SP New Karachi claimed that police had apprehended one of the attackers while they are searching for the others.
Security forces have cordoned off the area.
