Summary A soldier of Pakistan Army was martyred in cross border firing from Afghanistan.

 

MOHMAND AGENCY: According to security forces, troops from Afghanistan resorted to unprovoked firing at Sheikh Baba check post in the border area of Mohmand Agency which left a troop dead.

 

The cross border firing stopped after retaliation by Pakistani troops, officials said.

 

Security officials said it was not yet confirmed whether it was action of Afghan National Army or Afghan Taliban militants were involved in this incident. An investigation was initiated following the incident.

 

Pakistan has been protesting and demanding Kabul to stop cross border attacks.


Last week, during his visit to Islamabad, Afghan foreign minister Zamlay Rasool admitted that Afghan soil was used to attack inside Pakistan and his government was failed to stop these attacks because of difficult ground situation.
