Summary Information minister said Kala Bagh Dam has its importance and this is undeniable.
ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira has said taking any decision about construction of Kala Bagh dam is prerogative of parliament.
Talking to a private TV channel, he said Saturday that government did not want to impose any restriction on court’s verdict and nor it could do so.
Kala Bagh dam has its importance and this is undeniable, Information minister remarked.
“Dam should be constructed or otherwise. Your three provinces are saying it should not be built and the assemblies of these provinces are also saying dam be not built. What message would go if court of one province says it should be built”, he held.
“We have already said Pakistan is a federation. It was our claim from the very beginning. When we came to power, Pakistan was a fractured federation and it was a federation, which was facing wear and tear menace. We have tried to bridge it with relentless efforts. We are not saying every thing has gone ok.
This is a type of intervention and problem will start coming this way”, he remarked.
