Summary PM says Pakistan played key role in war against terrorism.
Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani in an interview to Sky News said that ISI and CIA arrested several Al-qaeda leaders in joint operation.Later PM Gilani AND British Defence Secretary Philip Hanmmond discussed several issues including Afghanistan situation, joint efforts for peace and cooperation in defence sector.Enhancement of present cooperation in defence sector between both countries was discussed during the meeting.Prime Minister Gilani said that Pakistan wants a peaceful and stable Afghanistan and political reconciliation there. He said that talks were being held with positive gestures regarding resumption of NATO supply.The PM said that military action was not a solution to any problem while Pakistan will not accept any additional condition.British Defence Secretary Philip Hanmmond said that Taliban should leave weapons and come to the dialogue.PM Gilani said Pakistan was committed to the reconciliation process in Afghanistan and believed in Afghan-led and Afghan-owned process. He maintained military operation was no solution to any problems and political process was must for any success.About the reopening of NATO supply routes to Afghanistan‚ Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said that negotiations were underway for opening the lines of communications and things were moving in the right directions.
