Summary Former army chief Mirza Aslam Baig has submitted his reply in Supreme Court.
In his reply, Aslam Baig denied all reports subjecting to his and armys involvement in the illegal distribution of the money.Accusing the then DG ISI Asad Durrani for the corruption, he maintained that the ISI chief of that time was not working under him, adding that he cannot issue directives to the DG ISI for the disbursement.Aslam Baig asserted that he and the army had no connection with the case.He further explained that the money was transferred to the account of ISI and not army. Therefore, he cannot be held responsible for the corruption.Earlier, Air Marshal (retd) Asghar Khan filed a petition in Supreme Court stating that a huge amount of money was disbursed among the politicians by ISI to disrupt the general elections in 1996.
