Summary Rs 75 billion go missing from Punjab accounts during current fiscal year.

According to documents of Auditor General Pakistan declared funds worth Rs 40.24 from Punjab accountry for year 2010-2011 as high-risk. However, the office of Accountant General – the provincial custodian of public money – was not notified. AG Punjab refused to sign the documents and in a letter to Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, sought details of recovery of more than Rs 34.70 billion.The office of the AG has also stopped issuing funds to various companies established by the provincial administration saying that they were not following accounting procedures laid down for public consolidated funds.
