Summary Babar Awan on Monday filed a plea in the Supreme Court, seeking unconditional apology.
PPP leader Babar Awan submitted a plea in the Supreme Court of Pakistan, seeking unconditional apology to the apex court over his derogatory remarks.“I express regret over my comments I passed during a media talk and unconditionally apologies for uttering the remarks which led to cancellation of my licence for the law practice,” said Awan’s petition filed in the court on behalf of Raja Abdul Ghafoor Advocate-on-Record.“I don’t want any defence lawyer in my case, my apology be accepted,” the former law minister stated in his plea. He said that he even cannot think about the contempt of court but reading of couplet act was presented in different way. He said that it was uttered unintentionally.He said that practicing law is his only source of income and his law firm is also suffering from it. He appealed to the court for acceptance of apology latter and cancels the order of suspension of his licence. Awan had uttered derogatory remarks against judges after the SC ordered for an investigation by Tariq Khosa into the memo scandal.On April 10, Awan had tendered an apology to the court, especially to Justice Asif Saeed Khosa against whom he had launched a tirade by openly attacking him for being brother of Tariq Saeed Khosa. However, the SC bench has yet to decide if it is admitting Awan’s plea for apology.
