Mubashar Luqman moved a writ petition in the Lahore High Court and claimed that laptop scheme is being used for political purposes.The counsel for the petitioner said that the procedure for purchase of laptops worth billion of rupees is not candid, adding that quantity as well as quality of laptops is also doubtful. He also claimed that the Punjab government also violated the merit policy.It was also claimed in the petition that the government distributed computers among such people who did not deserve properly while some student feigned themselves as the poor and succeeded in gaining laptops by hook or crook.According to petition, two billion rupees allocated for Primary Education also have been spent on this drive. The petitioner’s counsel Barrister Ali Zafer said that despite not having any political officer, Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz distributed laptops among students.
