Summary LHC has sought details of number of coordinators to Punjab CM and their expenditures till June 21.
Petitioner’s counsel Rana Mahtab moved a writ petition which was heard by Lahore High Court Justice Umar Ata Bandial.The lawyer was of the view that Punjab government has appointed a large number of coordinators on political grounds; their appointment and provision of facilities to them is violation of the law and constitution.The counsel for the petitioner also argued that according to law, the CM is authorized to appoint only five coordinators. On the other hand, the counsel for the government of Punjab said that all the coordinators have appointed in accordance with rules and regulations.The prestigious Justice commented that under which regulations, these coordinators are using air conditioned rooms, official vehicles and pick and drop services.The hearing of the case has been adjourned till next date.
