Summary Shortfall of electricity has reached 4700 megawatt in the country.
According to PEPCO spokesman, total power generation has reached to 10, 032 megawatts however the demand is 14, 732 megawatts.IPPs are generating 5,531 megawatts and thermal plants are providing 1,668 megawatts of electricity. However, the hydel power generation has restrained to 2,837 megawatts.About 670MW electricity is being provided to KESC. Duration of power loadshedding has reached 12 to 14 hours in urban areas and 14-16 hours in rural areas.
