Summary Accountability Court Lahore had extended physical remand of Railways ex-GM for more 15 days.
After completion of 14-days physical remand, the NAB produced the Railway’s ex-GM Saeed Akhter in the court and requested the court for extension in his physical remand as investigation of the accused was, yet, incomplete. While showing resentment, the court reprimanded the NAB officials and said that Saeed Akhter is accused of committing corruption worth Rs 70 million in scrap scandal but not a single proof has been provided to the court in this regard. NAB gets remand of accused only for its reputation. While passing his remarks, the judge said, “When you arrest the people without any proof, their prestige and personality is defamed and defaced.”The court ordered to extend physical remand of the accused for more 15 days.
