Summary Punjab government has deployed heavy contingents of police outside hospitals.
Young Doctors Association (YDA) continues their protest on the eighth consecutive day against the transfer of 45 postgraduate trainee doctors (PGRs) and medical officers (MOs) of services hospital whilepatients continue to suffer in all government hospitals as outpatient departments remain closed.The patients lamented that they have to return home without treatment or are compelled to bear the expenses of private hospitals.Meanwhile, talks are likely to be held between health department and representatives of YDA.According to sources, the government is likely to initiate an inquiry against the doctors if talks failed. The sources said that the government might also arrest the protesting doctors if they resisted.
