The excavation work continues at Gayari sector amid harsh weather conditions in Siachen.According to the met office, dry weather is likely to prevail in the area for the next 24 hours.Meanwhile, senior scientists have also been called to dig out the soldiers buried under the avalanche. Chinese team of experts has also reached the Gayari sector to help the army men in the rescue operation.However, the Director General of Military Operations has maintained that nothing can be predicted about the survival of the buried men.On the other hand, difficulties are being faced in the locomotion of heavy machinery due to the height of Gayari sector.135 people including 124 soldiers and 11 civilians defending the homeland at Gayari sector in Siachen were buried alive under the avalanche in the early hours on April 7.
