Summary Accountability court of Lahore has extended the remand of ex-GM of Pakistan Railways to 14 days.

Former General Manager Operations of Pakistan Railways Akhtar Saeed has been accused of his involvement in corruption of millions of rupees in railway scrap scandal. He was presented before the accountability court in Lahore after 14-day remand today.The lawyer of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) said Saeed Akhtar had purchased plots of one-canal each in DHA, Thokar Niaz Baig and Sukh Chain.On the request of NAB, the court extended the remand till April 28 and asked the officials to conduct the investigation efficiently. Earlier, Pakistan Railways General Manager (GM) Operations Saeed Akhtar was handed over to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on 14-day remand here on Friday.
