Summary Vocational institutes staff protests enter fourth consecutive day.

Employees of vocational training institutes (VTIs) from all over Punjab continued their sit-in on fourth day in front of the Chief Minister’s Secretariat after rejecting the nine-member committee formed by the government to resolve their issues.The protesting employees of vocational training institutes demanded a regular pay-scale like other government servants to ensure a safe future of their children.The government set up a committee of nine members to look into the matter. However, the protesters rejected the committee and demanded for an immediate action.There are around 155 vocational training institutes in Punjab, having 3,000 employees. These institutes were set up in 1998 under the Punjab Vocational Training Council.
