Summary Memo commission resumed the hearing at Islamabad High Court on Friday.

During the hearing, the communication between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Pakistan’s embassy in United States was reviewed. Foreign Office presented diplomatic record of Hussain Haqqani, the former ambassador to US.Foreign office representative Sohail Khan contended that detailed briefing and code of conduct in form of a handbook is being handed over to an ambassador at the time of appointment.In addition, the official maintained Hussain Haqqani’s visit to London on May 5, 2011 was not on the ministry’s record as he went there without informing the office.He also confirmed that both handsets used by Haqqani were government’s property as government bears telephone expenses of all embassy officials.Justice Qazi Faez Isa, the head of the commission, issued directives to inquire concerned department about recovery of government belongings.Further, legal expert, SMZafar recommended that a notice should be issued to bring Hussain Haqqani back with the help of FIAand relevant departments.Yesterday, the Commission rejected Hussain Haqqanis plea for adjournment of commission hearing till the decision of his another application pending in the Supreme Court seeking recording of his statement abroad via video link.
