Former DG ISI Shuja appeared before memo commission headed by Justice Qazi Faez Isa, at Islamabad High Court on Thursday.Former DG ISI Shuja Pasha, Husain Haqqanis counsel Zahid Bukhari, Mansoor Ijazs lawyer Akram Sheikh and Kashmir Yasin Malik were also present during the proceedings.However, Hussain Haqqani submitted an application yesterday regarding his absence due to bad health.While testifying before memo commission, former DG ISI confirmed meeting with Mansoor Ijaz, the central figure in the case.Pasha said he wanted to meet Mansoor Ijaz after going through his article in Financial Times.“Mansoor Ijaz agreed to meet outside Pakistan and US to share the details” he added.The meeting was arranged in London on October 22, 2011 which lasted for more than four hours. During meeting Mansoor Ijaz showed 35 BlackBerry messages which were communicated with former ambassador to US Hussain Haqqani.Shuja Pasha returned to Pakistan on October 23 and briefed Army Chief General Kayani about his visit while notified the President Asif Ali Zardari on November 18. However, stating his confidence in Hussain Haqqani, President Zardari called the issue highly sensitive and a matter of national security.Responding to a question by Haqqani’s counsel Zahid Bukhari, Pasha said Mansoor Ijaz did not provide any other evidence except BlackBerry and computer data, however, ISI is capable to recover communication details, once both handsets are available.
