Memo case: Pasha confirms meeting with Mansoor Ijaz

During the hearing, Former DG-ISI Ahmed Shuja Pasha said Mansoor Ijaz showed him over 45 text messages of Hussain Haqqani received on his blackberry set during his meeting at Park Inter-Continental hotel in London on October 22, 2011.Shuja asserted he informed about his meeting on his return to Pakistan to the Army Chief on 24rth of October while President was notified on the next day (25th October, 2011).In repsonse to the question of Haqqani’s absence, his lawyer Zahid bukhari said a medical report will be presented before the commission.Zahid Bukhari requested the commission to postpone the proceedings of the commission till the verdict of Supreme Court over the plea filed by Hussain Haqqani.While questioning the identity of Yasmin Malik, Mansoor Ijaz’ lawyer Akram Sheikh called his role as a plot by agencies to confuse the commission with wrong facts. Replying to his criticism, Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Yasmin Malik affirmed that he met Mansoor Ijaz thrice.While showing the pictures as a proof, he said his meeting was not held in a pleasant atmosphere. He maintained that he will quit politics if a record found of his meeting with any official of Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) during his 30 years of politics.Memo commission meeting headed by Justice Faiz Esa is underway at the Islamabad High court.Earlier, Former Ambassador to US, Hussain Haqqani submitted a request to the commission stating that he could not appear before the commission as he was under medication.
