Summary Supreme Court has rejected request of Chairman FBR for re-preparation of Nato Containers Case.

Three member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry conducted hearing of the Nato Container Case. The NAB submitted Nato scandal report in the court.Chairman FBR expressed his reservations over reports submitted by Federal Tax Ombudsman and Chairman FBR Salman Siddique.The counsel for FBR, Raja Irshad, requested the court for time of four weeks. At this, Chief Justice reprimanded the advocate and rejected petition of the FBR.The Chief Justice remarked that FBR Chairman has no right of reservation. Mafia had looted Rs 70 billion and even not a single rupee has been recovered.While addressing Raja Irshad, the Chief Justice said that when Slaman Siddique was FBR Chairman, “You used to declare his steps correct but your opinion changed as new chairman came to the office.”Chief justice said that Federal Tax Ombudsman has also conducted an inquiry the matter; so new investigation is impossible in this regard. Now, NAB chairman would handle the issue.Chief Justice ordered Director NAB to complete inquiry report within two weeks. Hearing of case was adjourned till next date.
