Summary Justice Shakirullah Jan has taken oath as acting chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan.
Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammed Chaudhry administered the oath.The oath-taking ceremony was attended by among other officers apex court’s judges and Attorney General.Chief Justice of Pakistan nominated Justice Jan as acting ECP chief on Thursday under Article-217 of the Constitution, as Justice (r) Hamid Ali Mirza retired on Friday after the completion of his three-year term.
