Summary Supreme Court rejected the Election Commission plea for extension in date to review voting lists.
A three-member bench of Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry conducted hearing of the caseThe Election Commission requested to the court that document of voting lists has been put in display centres for the people; yet this function would take time for completion.The Election Commission also requested to the court for 15 days more so that the voting lists might have reviewed properly.The Chief Justice rejected the plea of Election Commission and remarked that the Election Commission has not followed the deadline of February 23.Legal action is being taken against Secretary Election Commission.
