Summary Male and female must be in possession of NIC at the time of marriage.
A resolution has been tabled in Punjab assembly in this regard.The resolution was tabled by PML-Q member Amina Ulfat who said that the Punjab Assembly should recommend the proposal to the federal government for legislation on National Identity Card before marriage. It aims at discouraging child marriage in country.For this, all the youth of 18-year-old should have an identity card.The resolution further said that it would facilitate women using their political rights in general and other elections.
