(Dunya News) – While there are some traditional dishes without which an iftar seems incomplete, there are some drinks which are some of the most sought after during this month.
Different drinks made using fresh milk, yogurt and other herbal ingredients are prepared especially during when Ramazan falls in the summers.
For the past twenty years, Hasan Square in Karachi is the go-to place for special drinks for iftar. Made from ingredients like basil seeds, known for its cooling effect, people say for iftar their preference is drinks that help them quench their thirst.
Another such drink, doodh soda, is prepared using milk, ice and a sweet green-coloured concentrate.

The traditional lassi, both sweet and salty, has always been a standard choice in Ramazan for those observing fasts.
Herbs and spices are also added as per taste to add a dash of flavour to each of these drinks.
In other parts of Karachi, such as Gulistan-e-Johar special red sherbet is prepared in large containers for all those who are fasting. The traditional red sherbet is one of the most sought after drinks in Pakistan.
