(Dunya News) – With the arrival of Ramazan, millions of Muslims across the world will be fasting from dawn till dusk. However, during fasting, which is beneficial for health, many people indulge in processed and fried foods, something that adversely affects the body.

As fasting during Ramazan is mandatory for all the healthy Muslims, doctors recommend that a balanced and healthy diet should be made part of sehri and iftari.

Furthermore, doctors also recommend to avoid spicy and oily foods which are one of the main causes of various people visiting hospitals during Ramazan.

Speaking to Dunya News, endocrinologist Dr. Masroor said, “During Ramazan diet should consist of fruits, meat and vegetables. People should avoid fried oily foods, sweet drinks and drink plenty of water after iftar."

According to medical experts, patients suffering from diabetes, kidney problems should consult their doctors before fasting.

Ramazan is the month of not just fasting but it also teaches Muslims to be patient and tolerant.
