Lohan goes back to jail for probation violation

The US actress, Lohan was ordered back to jail for 120 days and 480 hours community service after a judge ruled that a jewellery theft charge was a violation of her 2007 probation for drunk driving.Lindsay Lohan has been sentenced to 120 days in prison and 480 hours of community service. Lohan, who served two weeks in jail last summer, was taken from a Los Angeles court after being ordered to stand trial on June 3 on a reduced misdemeanour charge of stealing a $2,500 necklace in January.This would be Lohans fourth jail stint while she would spend 300 of her 480 hours at a womens centre. Lohans lawyer filed an immediate appeal and Lohans camp scrambled to post bail set at $75,000 to secure her swift release from custody pending that appeal.Lohan has been in and out of rehab, jail and courtrooms since 2007. Once considered among the most promising young actresses in Hollywood, Lohans career has come to a virtual halt but earlier this week she secured a role in an upcoming movie about New York mobster John Gotti.
