Lollywoods woes likely to continue

Cinema owners said that the Pakistan Movie industry has been in a downward spiral since last year. Despite that, the cinema owners are barely making ends meet by screening several Pakistani and Indian movies. The efforts to revive the cinema industry have been mostly unproductive.Cinema owners said that because no new movie is being produced or released, they have no choice but to screen old movies which do not attract mass audiences. The film fans have been disappointed by the release of old movies which is why they have stopped coming to the cinemas. Cinema owners feel that they would soon have to change their cinemas’ in to plaza for the sake of business.
