Summary Cricket should neither be politicised nor used for mudslinging over religions: Kapoor

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Indian actor Rishi Kapoor has said on Tuesday that the social media users unnecessarily made a big deal out of his statements before the final match of Pakistan and India in Champions Trophy 2017.

Kapoor talked to Dunya News anchorperson Kamran Shahid in programme ‘On The Front’.

He contested in a telephonic conversation that cricket should neither be politicised nor be used for religious mudslinging.

The actor conceded "defeat" and said that he had offered apology after the match but no one considered it and jumped to criticism. However, he said that social media users should not indulge in immoral remarks and should just support the sport instead.

Kapoor has stated on the social media ahead of the match that Pakistan Cicket Board (PCB) should send a "cricket team" this time, belittling squads of earlier India games.

He further alleged Pakistan of sponsoring terror in a message on the social media.
