Summary Ninety-eight full time faculty members were sent to universities of Austria, France and Germany.
Forty faculty members of 15 selected universities of the country have successfully completed their PhD studies from reputed foreign institutions on scholarships provided by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).The Commission had launched a specific programme in 2004 to strengthen the faculty of comparatively weak universities and bring them at par with the developed ones.A total of 45 teachers proceeded to France, 42 to Germany and 11 to Austria.The 40 returned scholars have rejoined their parent organizations. Following scholars have completed their studies during the last month.Dr. Zafar Yaqub, Lecturer, Department of Management Sciences, Islamia University, Bahawalpur (IUB) has completed his PhD with distinction from Universitat Wien, Austria in Management Sciences.He did his research on “The Efficacy of Relational Governance and the Value-creating Relational Investments in Revenue-enhancement in Supplier-intermediate Buyer Relationships”. He has six local and 19 international publications.Dr. Naveed Ahmed Shaikh, Lecturer, Department of Economics, Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU), Khairpur completed his PhD with a distinction of ‘Cum Laude’ from the Institute of Development Research and Development Policy, RUHR-University of Bochum, Germany in Social Sciences. He completed his research on “Trade Liberalization and Poverty Alleviation in Pakistan (Case Study of Sindh Province)” and has two international publications.Dr. Faisal Maqbool Zahid, Lecturer, Department of Statistics, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad completed his PhD with distinction of ‘Magna cum Laude’ from Institute for Statistics Ludwig-Maximilians University, Munchen, Germany in Physical Sciences. His research was entitled “Sprinkage estimation for categorical regression models”. The scholar has eight international publications to his credit and has also authored a book entitled ‘Regularization and Variable Selection in Categorical Regression Analysis’ in 2011.Dr. Mrs. Farhat Iqbal, Lecturer, Department of Electronics, University of Sargodha completed her PhD from the Department of Broadband Communication, Tecnische Universitat, Graz, Austria in Satellite Laser Ranging. The title of her research was “Feasibility Study and Design of a Multi-Kilohertz Satellite Laser Ranging System”. The scholar published four research papers in international journals.Dr. Pershotam Khatri, Lecturer, Department of Animal Reproduction at the Sindh Agriculture University (SAU), Tandojam completed his PhD with distinction ‘Cum Laude’ from the Department of Veterinary Medicine, Justus-Liebig-Universität Giessen, Germany in Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences. He did his research on “Placental Sulfoconjugated Estrogens in Cattle: Byproducts of Trophoblast Giant cell differentiation or Substrates of Pregnancy -Specific Sulfatase”. He has four local and three international publications.Dr. Basit Niaz, Lecturer, Department of Chemistry, Hazara University, KPK completed his PhD with distinction ‘Magna Cum Laude’ from Universitat Greifswald, Germany in Physical Sciences. The title of his research was “Synthesis of Novel Biaryl Type Heterocyclic P, P- and P, N- Ligands”. He has four international publications to his credit.Dr. Noman Javed, Lecturer, Department of Computer Science, IUB has completed his PhD from University of Orléans, France in Computer Sciences. His research topic was “Meta-Programmed algorithmic skeletons: Implantation, performances and applications”. The scholar published five international research papers.Dr. Malik M. Saad Missen, Lecturer, Department of Computer Science, IUB completed his PhD from University of Toulouse, France in Computer Science. His research title was “Multidimensional ranking model for Information retrieval opinion detection in Blogs”. He has 12 international publications.Dr. Aziz Javed, Lecturer, Department of Business Administration, Gomal University has completed his PhD from IAE Aix-en-Provence, Paul Cezanne University, France in Management Sciences. His research was titled “Effects of performance appraisal politics on job satisfaction organizational commitments turnover intention”. He has two international publications.Dr. Nasir Mahmood, Lecturer, Department of Biotechnology and Informatics at the Balochistan University of Information Technology and Management Sciences, Quetta completed PhD from INPL Nancy University, France. He completed his research on “A case study of different hydrodynamic and nutritional constraints on Streptomyces used for the production of antibiotic” and has one local and three international publications.Dr. Jabbar Khan, Lecturer, Gomal Centre of Bio-Chemistry, Gomal University completed his PhD from Institute of Genetics and Development, Faculty of Medicine, Rennes University, France in Physical Sciences. His thesis was titled was “Relationship between Aurora Kinase C and Cancer”. He has 10 international publications.Dr. Nadeem Salamat, Lecturer, Mathematics Department, Karakorum International University, Gilgit-Baltistan has completed his PhD with a mention of ‘Honourable’ from University de la Rochelle, France in Physical Sciences. He completed his thesis on “Dynamic space relations between objects for scene analysis”. He has seven international publications.Dr. Ihsanullah, Lecturer in Computer Science Department, University of Balochistan, Quetta completed his PhD from Universite de Technolgies de Troyes, France in Computer Sciences. He completed his research on “Performance management of P2P based ALM infrastructures”. He published six research papers in international journals.-- Online
