Summary Students were sensitised about use of helmet and importance of following traffic rules at a seminar.

The seminar was organised by FC College-University (FCCU) Lahore in collaboration with the City Traffic Police.FCCU Director of Safety & Security Col (r) Rana Khaqan Mahmood, the chief organizer of the event, said improvement in traffic situation on roads calls for involving our youth in tackling the grievous problem as much as it requires steps by the regulatory authorities. “Improving traffic on roads requires efforts by all segments of society, including educational institution, and we are only doing our bit by holding the seminar to this end. All educational institutions should lead with such initiatives,” he added.The seminar started with a lecture by traffic police inspector Saeed Azeem who dilated on the various rules even old drivers usually overlook. Visuals were also shown through multimedia for a better understanding of the issue. Concluding his lecture, the traffic inspector stressed: “If we only follow the traffic rules then we can surely give our country a healthy and disciplined society.”After him, DSP Sukhera, a distinguished Formanite, spoke about his experience and days spent in FC College during his educational period. He also appreciated the efforts of university administration for the betterment of FCCU. Guests were given souvenirs. He further said that according to a report of the WHO, 3200 to 3500 people die every year due to traffic rules violation.Speaking to the media, Assistant to Director Security Raza Shahid, the media coordinator for the event, said that bringing together the two institutions for the betterment and educating students, the seminar would help students learn the rules and regulations of city traffic police. He said these sessions would be a great help for the students in following traffic rules and regulations.Mobile vans of the traffic police issued preliminary driving licenses to the students all day long as a initiative to promote the trend of acquiring licenses.
