AIOU to start online IT classes from 8th

Summary Allama Iqbal Open University will start online classes of computer science from January 8.

 

ISLAMABAD: This program has been planned for the students of far-flung areas particularly Umerkot and DG Khan.

 

It was announced by the Vice-Chancellor AIOU Professor Dr Nazir Ahmed Sangi after laying foundation stone for the construction of ‘Bachelor and Foreign Faculty Hostel’ at the main campus of University.


The bachelor and foreign faculty hostel would be constructed at the area of 43000 sft with the cost of Rs 139 million. The five-storey building will comprise of lower ground floor, ground floor, 1st floor, 2nd floor and third floor. The construction of building would be completed in 21 months.

 

“We should tenderly work together for the country’s over-all development. Education is the backbone of success and progress; without education a nation can’t stand properly”, he asserted.

 

He said that the AIOU is working with a vision to promote educational activities of the students living in far-flung and rural areas.

 

The AIOU, he said, has recently entered into agreements with various regional and international educational institutions for exchange of academic programmes and research-based material to improve the teaching plan.
