Veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader Syed Ali Gilani has said that New Delhi is using Kashmir University as a centre to carry out its political activities and conspiracies in the territory.” He appealed people including the students to stage protests on October 5 after Friday prayers against the move.Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said that participation of the Indian President in the convocation of Kashmir University, Rahul Gandhi’s proposed visit to the Valley and holding of a three-day seminar in the name of oriental languages by the Sanskrit Department of University reflected the New Delhi policymakers’ plans to counter the ongoing liberation struggle and thrust their culture on the people of Kashmir.He expressed serious concern that the Governor of Assam was called to preside over the seminar. “The massacre of Muslims was carried out recently in Assam under a planned conspiracy and lakhs of Muslims were rendered homeless in the state,” he said, adding that 2000 non-Kashmiris were brought from outside Kashmir to participate in the seminar.The veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader said that some officers in the Kashmir University administration were implementing New Delhi’s agenda in the university and the students had identified the officers.
