The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information, Mian Iftikhar Hussain has said that all possible endeavors would be taken to include University of Peshawar among the world’s top universities ranking, adding University of Peshawar was considered as a mother of all universities in the province.He expressed these views while talking to the President of Peshawar University Teachers Association, Jameel Ahmad Chitrali and Prof. Dr. Johar Ali Khan who called on him at his office in Peshawar on Wednesday and discussed the teachers’ problems.Mian Iftikhar said that the provincial government was giving high priority to higher education and 8 universities, 9 campuses and dozens of colleges in the province were setup by the incumbent provincial government, saying that only 9 universities had been established in the past 60 years.The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government launched “Stori Da Khyber Pakhtunkhwa” educational programme for the encouragement of the talented students, he added.Referring to the newly constructed Mian Rashid Husain Shaheed Hall, Mian Iftikhar Hussain said that there was a special purpose behind the construction of the same hall as Rashid Hussain was the student of this university and his life was candle for the new generation, adding that the hall would be equipped with all modern equipments and all the facilities required to the student would be ensured in it.
