Summary All the eight boards of Punjab announced the result for Matriculation Annual Examinations 2012.

On the whole, 135,674 out of 206,469 candidates passed the exams in Lahore, with the passing percentage being 65 percent.Meanwhile, 78,851 passed the examination out of 122,385 candidates in Faisalabad, with the passing percentage being 64 percent.In Gujranwala, 155,793 candidates appeared in the examination while 107,621 passed the examination. The passing percentage was 69 percent.Girls outshine boys in Rawalpindi board and secured first three positions. Meanwhile, the passing percentage was 62 percent.On the whole, 41559 out of 63,000 candidates passed the exams in Sargodha board, with the passing percentage being 65 percent.The passing percentage of candidates in Dera Ismail Khan was 66 percent while 62 percent was calculated in Bahawalpur.112,652 candidates appeared in Multan, with the passing percentage being 67 percent.The names of position-holders were announced by BISE Lahore Chairman Nasar Ullah Virk during a press conference at Children Library Complex on Tuesday.According to the list of toppers, the first position was grabbed by Muhammad Sarmad Waqar, a student of Beaconhouse School for Boys Canal Side Campus, Lahore (roll number 79737); and Nashka Zulfiqar, a student of Fauji Foundation Model High School for Girls, Sangla Hill District, Nankana (roll number 9010). Both of them scored 1021 marks out of a total of 1050.The second position was taken by Arslan Tariq, a student of Government Central Model School, Lower Mall, Lahore (roll number 89520), who got 1020 marks; while the third position was bagged by Sadaf Sarfraz, a student of Crescent Model Higher Secondary School for Girls, Shadman, Lahore (roll number 12479) who got 1019 marks.
