Summary Saqib Nisar takes first suo moto action on torture of young girl, demands report from IHC registrar
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Chief Justice (CJ) Saqib Nisar has on Wednesday taken suo moto action on the torture of a young girl by additional session judge and demanded detailed report on the settlement of the issue from Islamabad High Court (IHC) registrar within 24 hours, reported Dunya News.
PIMS Hospital has also reconstituted the medical board upon the request of the district administration, while the wife of the additional session judge has also been made a part of the investigations.
Supreme Court spokesperson says that CJ took the notice after media reports while IHC registrar has been ordered to present a detailed report on the settlement of the issue between 10-year-old tortured girl, named Tayyaba, and the family of the judge within 24 hours.
The board constituted for the medical inspection consists of Dr Tariq Iqbal, Dr Hameeduddin, Dr SH Waqar and Dr Aasma. The board will identify the reasons of the wounds on Tayyaba’s body.
Meanwhile, additional session judge’s wife Maheen has recorded her statement with the police.
