LAHORE (Dunya News) – Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Monday arrested as many as 19 wanted suspects and 21 absconders in separate raids in Lahore, Gujranwala and Gujrat.

On the directives of Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar, anti-human trafficking cell conducted operations in parts of country and apprehended several criminals.

According to details, as many as 12 wanted suspects and two absconders were taken into custody in Lahore while seven criminals and 19 fugitives were held in Gujranwala and Gujrat.

A case has been registered against all the suspects whereas interrogation from the detainees has also been launched.

Earlier, Child Protection and Welfare Bureau (CPWB) had conducted a raid in an illegally built shanty town near Data Darbar area in Bhatti gate, Lahore. The Bureaue arrested a group responsible for sexual violence against children who also used to administer intoxicant injections to minors.

Two children, Kaleem and Ali Raza, registered a complaint to CPWB team stating that children are being abducted and then brought to the slum where they are intoxicated by administering injections and then subjected to sexual violence.

CPWB’s team, accompanied by police, raided the area late at night and arrested 3 felons Ali Raza, Zeeshan Ali and Maulvi Akram while a child named Haider was also rescued.

Haider along with other 2 children have been shifted to the CPWB.
