Summary The MOU signed between the countries has no legal value, the ex-PCB chief said.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Former chariman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Zaka Ashraf has termed the legal campaign against India for not playing Pakistan useless.

Zaka Ashraf has said that Pakistan should stop trying to have India play Pakistan as the MOU signed between the countries has no legal value. In this regard, he suggested that PCB save its money as the MOU signed between Pakistan and India in 2014 has no weightage which could legally prove fruitful for Pakistan.

Speaking of his tenure as chairman, he said that he had opposed the recommendations by the so-called Big Three as he was wary of the intentions of BCCI. He said that initially, the three cricket boards supported the stance of PCB but retracted later.

He said that he was vindicated when the ICC abolished the Big-Three formula for not being beneficial. Zaka Ashraf had suggested to ICC that the controversial formula of three countries dominating the cricket world was not durable as it was only going to benefit India, Australia and England. He also expressed displeasure over not taking advantage of the formula by incumbent NajamSethi despite supporting the formula.
