Summary Javed Miandad offered top-order batsmen a couple of tips.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Former captain of Pakistan cricket team, Javed Miandad has suggested that minimal interference from coach in players’ preparation and training strategy would yield maximum results.
While talking to media on Thursday, veteran cricketer opined that the psyche of Pakistani cricketers is fundamentally different from foreign players due to their unique backgrounds. He said that the coach needs to understand that Pakistani players need conventional mode of coaching and training, not the unorthodox, experimental approach Mickey Arthur imposes on them.
On that occasion, he also offered top-order batsmen a couple of tips on saving the wickets and achieving targets. He advised them to resort to singles and doubles instead of batting aggressively to score boundaries and risking losing early wickets.
He lauded Pakistan’s win in T20I series against New Zealand after ODI disaster. He said that although winning T20Iwas heart-lifting, only those teams are considered up to par which perform well in test and one-day formats.
