Summary The deadly duo were expected to be reunited in Multan Sultans franchise.
LAHORE (Web Desk) –The reunion of Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis, also known as the two W’s, in Pakistan Super League (PSL) is off the cards as the latter has failed to reach an agreement with newly-added team Multan Sultans to become their head coach.
It was earlier reported that the deadly duo will be reunited in Multan Sultans as Younis will be acting as the franchise’s mentor and head coach, while Akram, who left Islamabad United, will be taking over the role of director of cricket operations.
It has been learnt that Wasim Akram has already been signed by the Sultans. Sources have revealed that Waqar Younis was also offered to become Multan Sultans’ ambassador by the owner himself for Rs1 million per month.
The news that both these legendary bowlers are not working for the same squad may not sound surprising to those who are familiar with their past relationship that often remained tumultuous and strained, and is apparently the reason behind Waqar’s failure to reach the agreement.
