Summary Karachi region is opposing the proposed move.
LAHORE (Dunya News)- In bid to increase its revenue within fortnight, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is mulling to sold regional teams to corporate institutions, reported Roznama Dunya on Monday.
Sources privy to PCB told our correspondent that Najam Sethi would slash role of associations by selling them to industrial tycoons as planning to introduce drafting system is in its final phase. In 1st phase, it would be applied in the biggest national event i.e. Quaid-e-Azam trophy. According to draft system, 10 players would be selected ordinarily while eight would be selected through drafting, two emerging players would also be selected from under 19 region.
The step would add money in millions in PCB’s account whereas thousands of young cricketers would be unable to show their skills. Former cricketers are lambasting the new system but PCB remains firm on its stubbornness.
Though PCB has initiated efforts to address Karachi region s concerns but later is waiting for voices from other region to oppose the new system collectively.
