Summary Rejecting the notice, BCCI says impunity that no such MoU was ever signed with PCB
NEW DELHI: (Dunya News) – In another display of unfounded arrogance, Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) has rejected Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) notice regarding the bilateral series, reported Dunya News.
Clearly closing its eye on the facts, BCCI claimed that no Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding bilateral series was signed between the two boards.
According to the Indian board, formal discussions were held in 2014 regarding a bilateral series but it was conditional to government approval. PCB had sent BCCI a notice of Rs 4.4 billion for not playing the series.
PCB had maintained that out of the six scheduled series between India and Pakistan till 2023, India had already refused to play two, causing serious financial damage to the Pakistani board.
The issue is likely to be taken up at International Cricket Council (ICC) now.
