Summary Mohammad Irfan had to fly back to Pakistan after the sad news of his mother's death
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan cricket team has been suffering since the whitewash by Australia in the Test series. The visitors had announced their ODI squad but the sad news of death of Mohammad Irfan s mother has made him fly back to home.
The tall left-arm fast bowler has been replaced by pacer Junaid Khan in the team. The limited overs series between Pakistan and Australia will commence from January 13 and includes 5 ODIs.
Junaid Khan s name was finalized by Chief Selector Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Inzamam ul Haq and team management. He played his last ODI in May 31, 2015 against Zimbabwe.
He has taken 78 wickets in 52 ODI matches. Five years ago, Junaid had claimed 5 wickets against the Aussies in UAE, however, it will be his first chance to showcase the talent in Australia.
The pacer expressed joy over his selection for the ODI series against Australia.
