NEW DELHI (Web Desk) – Confident Pakistan women cricket team all set to play against India in International Cricket Council (ICC) Women World Twenty20 at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium today (Saturday).

The green shirts are enthusiastic in winning the game for the Pakistani cricket lovers while the injured Javeria Khan who fractured her thumb as she was struck by a bouncer from pacer Shamilia Connell in the first over of the chase against West Indies has been dropped from the squad.

Talking to media ahead of Indo-Pak clash, Pakistani captain Sana Mir stated: “We are in India to play positive cricket, and want to win at the Feroz Shah Kotla”.

“I want to win this game as a win here will be one of the high points in my career, and will It also be a good advertisement for our team back in Pakistan”, she added.

Earlier, Off-spinner Anisa Mohammed’s brilliant bowling performance (3/25) helped the West Indies Women edge Pakistan Women by a slender margin of four runs in a World T20 clash in Chennai .

The West Indies, during the match on Wednesday, were sent into bat after losing toss and restricted to 103/8. But in reply, Pakistan could only manage 99/5 in a Group B match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

After Javeria’s injury, Sidra Ameen (20) and Bismah Maroof (22) steadied the innings with a 40-run stand. But the tide decisively turned towards the West Indies after Anisa landed three quick blows.

Muneeba Ali (15), Sana Mir (18) and Asmavia Iqbal (19) all chipped in to keep Pakistan in the hunt.

They needed 12 runs in the last over but could manage only 8. Their next game is scheduled for Saturday, against India in Delhi.
