Summary Players should have at least respected the sentiments of the nation, raged Waqar Younas.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Anger, blame and disappointment was all that was directed towards the national cricket team as Pakistan lost the match to Bangladesh by 5 wickets in the 2016 Asia Cup T-20 tournament. Severely irked by the team failures, Head Coach Waqar Younas lambasted the players for their poor performance.

According to the details, Coach Younas did not even make an eye contact with the players in the ground but thundered over them as soon as they reached the hotel. The Coach’s patience ran out and he raged over the player’s mistakes. He inquired why the long hours spent on planning and developing a strategy had all been in vain. He stated that all that effort was of no use as the team seems to forget it as soon as they enter the ground.

Younas blasted the players saying if they had no respect for the dignity of the Coach they should have at least respected the sentiments of the nation. He added that the players should at least keep the cricket fans in their minds even if they had little regard for his coaching.

Meanwhile Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) chairman and Pakistan Super League (PSL) Najam Sethi also appeared to be extremely disappointed over the team’s failure. He tweeted his displeasure saying that he demands that those responsible for the incompetence should be dealt with severely and action should be taken against them.

On the other hand, the team’s Captain Shahid Afridi could only admitted his mistakes, as usual. Afridi, instead of saying his farewell to the fans, remains adamant that he will have to do something big for the T-20 World Cup, despite a poor performance in the series.

Prior to this match, Pakistan had also lost its match against arch-rival India, primarily due to a miserable batting performance. The defeat had angered cricket fans all over while the loss against Bangladesh added an insult to injury.
