ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved an increase of 75 paisas per unit in electricity prices for consumers across the country under the monthly Fuel Price Adjustment (FPA) for June 2026.
According to a notification issued by NEPRA, the additional amount will be recovered from consumers through their August 2026 electricity bills. The adjustment will also apply to consumers of K-Electric.
The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) had requested an increase of Rs1.20 per unit under the June monthly fuel price adjustment. However, after reviewing the request, NEPRA approved a lower increase of 75 paisas per unit.
The latest increase will further add to the financial burden on electricity consumers, who are already facing high power bills and rising living costs.
Earlier, under the monthly fuel price adjustment for May 2026, electricity prices had been increased by 34 paisas per unit for consumers across the country.
