US stocks closed with modest gains after newly released minutes from the Federal Reserves key policy committee raised hopes that the Fed would act to boost the ailing economy.The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 17.59 points (0.15 percent) to 11,556.84 in closing trade.The broader S&P 500 climbed 2.48 points (0.20 percent) to 1,212.56, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite jumped 13.09 points (0.51 percent) to 2,575.20.After opening with losses, US stock market crept upwards and closed higher after minutes of the August 9 meeting of the Federal Open Market Committee showed members discussing what steps to take if the economy continued to stall.
