Summary SBP profit scaled down to Rs497 billion in nine months of fiscal year.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan’s fiscal deficit has reached 3.6 per cent of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in first nine months (July-March) of current fiscal year.
According to details, the nine-month deficit is slightly lower than 3.8pc of GDP of same period last year. Interest and principal payments on debts rose 12% to Rs2103 billion in July to March period compared to the last year’s payments of Rs1879 billion.
In first nine months, defense expenditure reduced by 2.5 percent to Rs783 billion compared to at Rs803 billion of previous year meanwhile, petroleum levy in July 2020 to March 2021 amounted to Rs369 billion
On the other hand, SBP profit scaled down to Rs497 billion in nine months of fiscal year. In corresponding period a year ago SBP profit was around Rs635 billion.
